I've seen the suggestion before, so I'll voice my support of the idea here, I would love to be able to customize the difficulty. And changing from "normal" to "beginner" was pretty evil by the way, the devs sure love to feed on the tears of their playerbase it seems.īut I wouldn't want easier enemies, for example, the combat is fine as is, so can any veterans (or someone on the dev team) share their assessment of exactly what changes with the difficulty level and how? So I thought I might try playing in the begginer level instead.

While I understand the reason the challenge scalling to renown was implemented, I really would rather not have to manage that as much, as I find it highly gamey and immersion breaking. and now we are always outnumbered, fighting guys in chain mail while my dudes are still wearing whatever we can loot. I always barelly have enough cash to pay for supplies and my troop salaries, let alone equipment.Īnd I might have made the mistake of doing too many contracts without knowing I should have hunted for enemy lairs as well, which left my guys fairly under equipped. The wiki still uses the names from early access (normal, challenging, deadly).īeing a long time turn based tactics player I started the game on veteran, and while I'm loving the challenge the battles pose, I'm having a not so pleasant experience on another front, the economical one. I've been doing some research on this subject and wasn't able to find much of substance from after release.
